Paulo Freire

1) Freire says information presented to students only goes as far as "receiving, filing, and storing deposits." I'm not completely sure I agree with this. Do others agree?
2) He also says that "teachers present themselves to their students as opposite" Why shouldn't a teacher think like this?
3) Freire states students are ignorant. I don't agree with this, because everyone adds their own "spin" on different topics. Why else should they not be considered ignorant?

  1. Well I think some students are ignorant, but that is why they're STUDENTS. If they were really knowledgeable about everything that they learn in school than there would not be a use for a teacher. So I think that it isn't a bad thing that they are that way.
